Santa’s First Annual Celebrity “Nice List”

This year, the North Pole finally got internet access. Needless to say, Santa was not so jolly when he learned about the naughty ways his favorite kids have been using technology these days! And now, what started out as a simple exercise in web surfing has turned into a new life mission. Santa's taking his Sleigh to Cyberspace and plans to "take back the web." His goal - to show the world how to use power of the internet for good - for goodness sake!

His first stop - Hollywood! According to Santa Claus, there are a handful of celebrities who "use their celebrity for good - just for goodness sake." And that, he says "makes them great role models for the whole world." So now, for the first time in history, Santa has decided to share with the world his picks for the Top Ten Celebrity "Nice" List of 2004.

According to Santa, all Ten were chosen for being "incredibly gifted souls who are "good" through and through." They're all known in the North Pole as being particularly "Elfish" - that's the "opposite of Selfish." "It's easy to be good when you want something," notes Santa, "but these kids have made it to the top and still they generously give back to the world a thousandfold." And that, says Santa, "is what makes them so very Nice."

Here, without further ado, is Santa’s First Annual Celebrity Nice List – coming to you straight from Santa’s New Online Workshop at Jinglegram.com.
1.

Paul Newman. Paul, just like Santa Claus, you get better with age. I can't even begin to list all the things that make you one of the most outstanding role models of our time. Also, Paul: Mrs. Claus thinks you're very handsome. But I always tell her, "Why fool around with hamburger when you've got steak at home!" Ho ho ho!

2.

Julia Roberts. Ah, Julia, if I wasn't already happily married to Mrs. Claus... ho ho, just joking! They couldn't have cast Erin Brockovitch better! A woman with brains and beauty, making a powerful difference in the world. That's Julia, through and through! Santa loves you for your tender heart and giving nature. I know you'll make a wonderful mommy to those sweet, newborn twins.

3.

Tom Hanks. If there's anyone qualified to make a movie about Christmas Magic, it's you, Mr. Hanks. We plan to show The North Pole Express on December 26th, at the Elftown Snowmobile Drive-In. Wish you could be there! Tom, there's something of the little boy inside of you, and he shines through for the world to see! (I'm not just saying that because "Big" is one of my favorite movies.)

4.

Doug Flutie. Hey Doug, can you do me a favor? Buff the Heisman Trophy and leave it out where I can see it on Christmas Eve. I like to take a little break and pretend I'm a football star! See, even Santa has dreams. Doug, no matter what team you're on, I'm rooting for you all the way. In my Jinglegram to you I tell you all the ways that you make a wonderful father and exemplary citizen.

5.

Rudy Giuliani. "ROO-dee! ROO-dee!" (That's me cheering for you!) Unless they live in Antarctica (and I know some folks who do), I don't have to tell the world why this RUDOLPH, HAS Gone Down in History as one of the greatest leaders of our time. For my humble letter of thanks for your unmatched contributions to society.

6.

Oprah Winfrey. A Goddess among women, an icon of class, poise and benevolence: the beautiful Oprah Winfrey! Mrs. Claus and I never miss the Favorite Things episode of your show. We can't thank you enough for your generosity toward needy children of the world. I try my best to spread love and cheer but you've gone above and beyond the call! Thank you Oprah!

7.

Regis and Kelly. It's true, what they say: "When you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you!" Regis, the world will surely be smiling at the sound of your melodious voice doing American Music Classics. You two, you're like me and Mrs. Claus! A dynamic duo that brings sparkle and style to millions of homes every day. (OK, me and Mrs. Claus don't do that but you know what I mean.)

8. Angelina Jolie. A wild child with a heart of gold- Angelina, I think you may be one of the most misunderstood women on the planet. It looks to Santa like you've been having an intense love affair -- with humanity! Our beautiful earth has you to thank for your countless contributions that make this a better place for our children. Angelina- you're the angel at the top of my Christmas Tree!
9. Ellen Degeneres. Ellen, you're Santa's funny little pixie! I know your heart goes out to the brave men and women of the U.S. Military, and that makes Santa so happy! I can't thank you enough for ALL your incredible kind acts. The reindeer have asked me to help them write you fan letters because they know what an animal lover you are, too!
10. Barry Manilow.  Some have said Barry White makes the best music for good lovin'. But the Barry that keeps the spark alive between Mrs. C and me on those frosty North Pole nights is Manilow. Barry Manilow... the Man... the Myth... the Legend!
